We finally made it to Memorial Day. That meant Darren was done with his audit at work and we would have our Dad back. Tyler had to go down with the LaRivieres a day early. He packed up his big backpack and I sent my son off!
Nellie and Patrick came in that night. Late. but great. She got to meet her new niece Abby.
We left Friday night after work to drive the 5.5 hours to Fruita Colorado. I didn't see Tyler until the next morning and I hardly recognized him. He was totally covered in dirt. FILTHY! Her the kids are looking for lizards with Torah in the bushes.
The playground... our campsite... the dirt... oh my! kids were so dirty all the time.
There was no shade so we hung out in the back of cars, and under the one tarp.
Abby managed to not get a sunburn which was really nice! She came home dirty too...
So to avoid the middle of the day heat we went swimming one day.
On Sunday we visited the nice ward there then drove to Monument Valley. We hiked around on some fun rocks.
Even Roxanne the dog was hot!
We did do plenty of riding too. Usually in the mornings and Evenings.
The kids were super. Tyler is in the middle.
and this is Ella coming in to the finish line! It was a great trip. Next time we head back we will go in September or October when it is a little cooler. But camping with friends/family is great. It is nice to have lots of kids to play with and people to sit around the campfire at night with, and we all shared cooking meals so it was extra easy!
