November 2021

November went by in a flash.  We had good weather, warm weather mostly.  We wished for snow.  Ella continues to have a jaw that pops out all the time.  Ibuprofen and ice at night meant for a chilling experience.  I had my activity days boys over to make bird houses and play ultimate frisbee.

Cold mornings at the bus stop often make us want to huddle up as close as possible to the Aho's house.  Abby always makes her bed so nicely. She loves her "friends" and her blankies.  Abby also wanted to make a cake.  I feel like I often don't spend time with her like I did with my younger ones.

Darren tries to get the kids to still bike with him on Saturdays.  He needs to get out and they need to keep their legs spinning.

Tyler went to the Winter Formal with one of my favorite girls- Keatyn.  I would adopt her if I could!  They have been friends for a very long time.  She is my littlest angel in my life.  She helped my family transition from living in Sandy to Draper.  Her friendship made everything easier 7 years ago.

San Clemente Cali 2021

We drove through Malibu and several coastal towns.  We were right outside of San Diego.  San Clemente was lovely.  We had turkey Swiss sandwiches for our late Thanksgiving dinner.  Darren made a dutch oven pumpkin dump cake.  We played on the beach, building sandcastles and flying kites.  I loved riding our bikes to an ice cream shop.  perfect weather.  We loved it.  Then we opted to drive all day home on Saturday.

Point Mugu, Sycamore Campground Cali. 2021

We spent two night at Point Mugu.  One night was freezing cold and then next night was super windy.  We loved the campground.  It was delightful to be in trees.  The older kids rode with Darren about 30 miles.  Abby and I did 7.5 miles.  That was awesome.  We headed down to the beach for the sunset.  We were so close we just rode our bikes there.  The sunset was 5:00 so we had plenty of time for dinner and games at night.

Thousand Oaks and Faria Beach

Brian and Sandra were so nice to let us stay with them.  We got to hike around their hills, play games in their amazing backyard and have some delicious food.

Then we drove to our beach site at Faria Beach.  It was an amazing spot.  The next morning we put on our wetsuits and took a dip in the cold ocean.  Brian and Sandra brought down their kayaks and supplies in the afternoon so we could enjoy a beach day together.

California or Bust 2021

We headed out a few days before Thanksgiving for a fun week camping at the beach.  We planned for a long drive, stopping in Valley of Fire midway to break up the trip.  Little did we know we would land in Beaver Utah for 24 hours due to car problems.  While Darren was on the phone with everyone he could we swam, had screen time in our hotel room, played games and heated up food in our little microwave.  The weather was terrible so we didn't want to camp.  Things frozen that night and we were glad we were inside where it was warm.  Darren and Tyler even went out for a bike ride to get off some steam.  We were grateful for the transmission fluid a dealer/Corey/Tawnie got for us.  Then when we finally had the ok to drive we ended up going the whole way to Brian Rupps house in Thousand Oaks.  The Santa Anna winds had picked up and the winds were gusting miles per hour.  It was nice to not be in a tent that night.
