November 2017

November was a great month.  Lots of wonderful things happened.  Coordinating schedules is sometimes hard but I love to meet up with old friends.   Shannon, Julie and I made it up to the suspension bridge.  Hiking/exercising is the best time to visit with friends.  I mean... I love to eat and socialize but I enjoy exercising and socializing a lot more!

We went to the play Aida at Hale Center.  I remember going to plays when I was younger.  So grateful for that.  My kids and my sisters kids have enjoyed it now also as we get older.  Ella is a sweet older sister.  These two have their moments but for the most part they are so good to each other.  They play together all the time.  They dont want to exclude each other.

Yes, I did take pictures of the yummy food we had for Thanksgiving.  Thanksgiving is by far my favorite holiday.  The food, family and getting together.  I have so many memories of getting together at my Grandma Hatch's house and just grazing all day long on the food. and playing with cousins all day long... and watching my uncles watch tv/sleep in front of the tv all day long.

We have some neighbor cats my kids love.  Ella loves them but cant touch them.  It makes her eyes swell up!  We did get in a fun laser tag war at a local place.  So much with cousins.

We live in a beautiful place.  The sunrise out our front door was exceptional one morning.  Darren and friends tried to hike up Provo Peak  one day... they got a bit of course but it was still fun.  Darren and Tyler tried to head up Cherry Canyon to the Outlaw cabin one weekend.  Long and steep....

Also, gearing up for ski season.  My two olders are on the Sundance Ski team.  So exciting that I get to coach with them.  Abby cant wait!  She tried on her gear!  She is super excited about the helmet.  She might be a bit cold though!

A nice weekend in November

One weekend we had Jennys kids over for a bit.  I got to use my moms trick of taking them all over to the church to get their piano practiced.  4 pianos... 4 kids practicing at once.  They made up a cool play that night.  It took them a few hours of working together which is great for all of us!

Darren woke up early to hike up to the top of Mnt Olympus.  We both got a great view of the sunrise.  Yet... we were in different places.

I was a bit jealous of him getting to the top of a mountain I have attempted 2 other times.  I rallied my friends and we got up to the top the next day.  Thanks Dan, Katie and Ang.

I got home tired and cold to see a happy site.  Darren and Tyler jumping on the trampoline working on Tylers backflip.  He was been so scared to try it for a while, but with a little time and attention from his Dad... he got it.  The girls were on the side cheering him on.

Moab marathon

A couple friends from the neighborhood signed up for a marathon trail run in Moab.  Even though we had just had a fun weekend get away a few weeks before in Moab we headed back down.  My niece Tessa got baptized while we were gone.  Tyler played the piano and the kids sang at the baptism.  They had cousin time which is always good.  I love the picture with my mom sitting with the grandkids.  She can sure capture their attention.  The did another play at Jennys house... makeup and all.

We got to go to Moab a day earlier so we could get in some canyoneering.  Tier drop canyon and Not Tier drop Canyon.  Its great to learn some new things about canyoneering.  We scrambled up side slot to make it to the top.  We found some neat rappels to drop into.  Thanks Brit and Kevin for the fun adventure.

The next day was the marathon.  The Newberrys showed up for the race.  All three guys had a great run.  The scenery in the canyons was amazing.
