January 2018

January weather has been un real.  It has been so warm most days.  We hardly have any snow which is sad for skiing and hard for the summer.  But here are a couple of highlights.

Tyler and Ella switched school this month.  After almost 4 years of driving into Sandy for school we are switching to our home schools.  Draper has great schools.  We loved Spanish Immersion but it wasn't working for our whole family. Before Tyler left Union he got student of the month.  We were super proud of him.  He's a great student.  He will continue with classes in Spanish at Corner Canyon High school and then I will drive him back to the Middle school.  Ella goes to Draper Elementary now and can do more Spanish in Middle school.

Tyler already had a cool scare from a terrible bike crash a year ago... this month he added a dog bite to his arm.  Not looking good... but good??? stories!

January was full on ski team time.  2-3 days a week we were driving to Sundance to ski.  Even with very little snow we still had practices.  It always looks like a bomb went off when we get home from skiing.  The moon was amazing one night.  I wish a camera could have captured it.  We see some amazing sun rises too.  And also some shenanigans.

I didn't get these two old friends smiling and looking at me because I didn't to ruin a moment.  Fluke and Dalls have been friends since elementary school.  He's a good man.  He married Kate who is amazing and they have Abby who we all adore.  I called Kate when I got home from the hospital and asked if it was ok to name our daughter Abby.  I have never met a bad Abby. The girls all did a play which is a new favorite play time.  Ang gave Ella her first guitar lesson.  Ella is so excited.

Abby loves her preschool.  She loves her friends too.  Olivia. We had Balls cousins over one warm weekend.  Always fun to have them here.  We have had one weekend of snow.  But other than that... its warm and dry.

Abby preschool KPA Halloween

School year 2017-18 Abby got to go to an amazing preschool called Kinder Prep Academy.  KPA.  Everything is an amazing learning experience.  Halloween wasn't just a Halloween Party it was a "Witches Brew" feast.  The dressed up in their nice clothes.  Had a nice lunch and learned manners.  ... and had a lot of fun.

A long weekend in January

It was Martin Luther King weekend... lots of stuff going on.  We decided to play all weekend.   Ella and Abby had friends over to do a play on Friday night.   Avery. Josie. Daisy. Ella. Abby and Grace
I got to go teach Maverick Sundance Ski team on Saturday morning.

Darren and Abby got to cheer on Ella at her first official tumbling competition.  She took 1st, 3rd, and 3rd.  I was so proud of her.  When they got home late that night Abby wanted to try on Ella's medals with her own black leo on.

Tyler got to go to Snowbird for his first South Series Race.  He finished which I was proud of.  Its not easy to ski against kids who have been competing for years.  And he had no parent support.  He just had to figure it out on his own.

After Church on Sunday we headed up to the cabin.  Lots of family that I love.  Good fun and a warm cozy place to hang out.  The kids put on a play for us.  Wow what a (messy) production.  We got to celebrate Lucy's bday.  The kids enjoyed playing in the snow.  We were glad Darren could come up for Sunday.  Then He and my Dad headed down to work on Monday morning.

New Years Day 2018

New Years Day.  We slept in after staying awake until 1:00... but then we were off and going.  Ella, Abby and Journey spent the day playing.  Just like old times.  The weather was amazing.  They made a dance on rollerblades and skates.  Abby was proud of herself for learning to skate.  She used the stroller as a tool to hold on too.

I cleaned out drawers and cupboards.  I found an old document I had been saving.  It lists all the family trips we went on as kids.  We were super lucky for sure!

Darren and Tyler headed up to Outlaw Cabin at the base of Lone Peak.  It took them the whole day but I think they had fun!
