December 2020

We loved December.  It was a fun month.  We had lots of friends all the time.  We loved climbing with our cousins - The all love Aunt Jenny- even kneeling down and begging for more cousin time.

I loved our family walks.  Corner Canyon and the Tree of Light.
So fun to stop in and see my old house growing up.  I got to go inside and see the memories I vaguely remembered.

I love my kids.  They are good kids.  Grandpa did some wonderful art work for Tyler to hang up in his room.  Abby loves to read and does so well.  Tyler emptied the dishwasher over 20 times in a row so he wouldn't have to empty it again for the entire month of December.  Ella and Darren made cookies.  Darren and Abby had some time together seeing lights.

Darren got some wonderful fresh powder turns in.  I also celebrated my 41st birthday.  I felt loved by so many people.  Darren and I baked a chocolate torte with help from a chef over zoom.

Christmas 2020 with Covid 19 all around

We had a simple quiet Christmas at our home this year.  We had zoom calls with both sides of the family.  We had some fun presents to open and then got to hang out as family with those presents.

A few days before Christmas we meet at Grandma and Grandpa Harston home and walked over to the Tree of Light in Draper.  We were all masked up but had goodies after.  So fun to see cousins.

Abby has an amazing primary teacher.  Maria Staker is a saint! She sewed beards for everyone so they could have a very Hairy Christmas.

The Elf on the Shelf- Charli

Tyler and Ella were incredible this year with Charli.  Abby was so exited to have Charli come on December 1st.  She was waking up at 6:15 or 6:30 every morning to find Charli and see what mischief he got into during the night.  Charli left treats every night.

Zion:Telephone Canyon- Cable Mountain Lodge

For my birthday weekend I got to run away to Zion National Park.  It was amazing especially because Heather spoiled us by getting us a beautiful room at her hotel.  We sat in front of the fire and laughed for a few hours.  Katie licked the Salt Candle Heather had for us.  The views were amazing.

The next morning we headed up Angels Landing and then just kept going.  We hiked along the West Rim Trail for 4 miles until we came to Telephone Canyon.  So many fun rappels over and over again.  We were glad to get out before dark.  Our legs and knees were mostly shot.  It seems that we are getting older.

The views were spectacular.  Absolutely spectacular.

We saw beautiful frozen potholes when we got out.
The next day we took some time to talk in the sunshine.  Strong women make the world go round.  We stopped on the JEM trails and did some biking then hit Taco Bell on the way home.  That was a great birthday celebration.
