June 2021

This is what June started with.  All our kids needed lots of sleep after we were gone for 10 days to Peru.  Here are a few highlights from June.
LOTS of biking.  Ellas bike team did some trail work to make a new hiking trail.

Tyler, Abby and I made lots of raspberry jam.
Maybe some biking with training wheels... Ella and Ava... preparing for a skit.
Tyler had an outdoor recital.
Abby with s'mores, Abby with Carmen at church - matching dresses. Abby and Grace host a neighborhood party.

Ella went to Girls Camp.  I wish I had more pictures.

Roommate Pam Noyes stopped in to visit.

Soren hangs out with the neighborhood kids which are mostly girls.... this was the best text I got from a mom who witnessed this.  "Well, they are on the pioneer trail. Look at Soren in the cowboy hat and the girls in their long skirts! I’m laughing out loud. They stopped for the night… It’s so kind of Abby and Soren to let the girls sleep in the wagon- ha ha And now poor Soren has to drag the girls to Utah…"

We had a lovely Fathers Day with an amazing dessert Tyler made.
The girls sleep outside frequently and I love it.
Relief Society activity with our daughters.  Making cookies and frosting cakes.

Lots of me biking, Abby biking with Sophia W at Trikes to Trails, Tyler, Ella and Darren biking with their school teams.

Rockaway Beach, Short Beach, Lighthouse, Oceanside, and Tunnel Beach

The Harston clan decided to head to the Oregon Cost for a few days.  Darren stayed home and worked, got a few bike rides in and put together the top of the truck.

We loved low tide at Netarts Beach.  Some shovels made all the difference to finding all kinds of critters under the rocks.
We drove to Short Beach which was lovely and had a waterfall fresh spring coming down into it.
We also stopped at a lighthouse.  The clouds made everything magical.
We really enjoyed Oceanside Beach.  It wasn't too crowded.  The water was cold but the kids still got in.  I sat and read a book and enjoyed some R and R. We took a short walk over to Tunnel Beach through ... the tunnel!  But Rockaway Beach was probably our favorite.  It was lots less busy.

We left Portland just in time to head back to SLC and their 100 degree days.
