The little things each day that make me happy

I feel very grateful for my life.  So many times in the last several months I have had moments of happiness and gratitude for the little things in my life.  For the chance to stay home with my children is probably one of the greatest.  There are many moments I would miss out on if I was working, and I am EXTREMELY grateful I can be here to see these moments.

Sundance Ski Race
First Race, Ella took 1st in her category.  She was on fire.  Beating Tyler's time even.  The Second Race Tyler improved dramatically.  Ella still beat him but his confidence was there!  I have been able to ski with my kids for years.  So grateful!
Because I get to see my kids and spend good time with them I don't feel bad when they are so excited for Daddy dates.  Tyler got to go to the Jazz game and sit in a special booth and eat lots of food.  Sometimes D takes them out to ice-cream or to a park.  Even out biking or skiing with just Daddy.  They love it.

We got to go visit my newest niece Lucy Beus.  Renee almost delivered at home, but made it to the hospital in just enough time!  I held Lucy and realized I don't have a baby anymore.  Lucy was light and sleeping.  My Abby is heave(ier) and mobile!

My baby moves and babbles, and pulls herself up on about everything.  She has little chubby rolls.  She also has lots of soggy diapers.  Those soggy diapers make me happy every time.  She is getting all that needed nutrients now.

Abby also gets into everything now.  Ella choose to do puzzles under the table the other day because the chairs around her would protect her from Abby.  (Now two weeks later, not a chance, nothing is safe from Abby).  And Tyler is my child who adores learning.  I was the bad mom who tried to convince him out of doing the science fair.  But he was determined.  GROWING CRYSTALS.  He did a great job.  I am pretty sad we didn't take a picture of the final poster.  I really though we had.  He told me the night before the science fair, that tomorrow was going to be the best day of his life.  Ahhhh!
Ella also started a unit of study in school about geography.  We wrote several friends who live far away and had them write postcards to Ella to take into her class.  They are charting the states and countries on a map.  Ella has loved getting mail.  What a treat.

Abby gets so excited to see her brother and sister every day after school.  And what would I do without Ella there in the morning to entertain Abby.  Abby gets rides in the wagon.  Abby gets toys handed to her.  She gets buckled up in a car seat, because mommy Ella is taking care of her.

Abby is amazing to me as I get to watch her grow.  She has her own little mind.  She saw the kids digging in their ski bag and needed to do the same.  She saw me wiping down walls and picked up a rag and did the same.  She wants to sit at the big kid table because they do... then she sits and kicks her feet because she is so happy!  She used to eat about everything.  but now she knows the sign for "All Finished".  She will take 2 bites and if she doesn't like... all finished.  Sometimes she is so busy and wants to just get down.... all finished.  Changing diapers... she lets me know right away she is ... all finished.  We head to her room for nap time, she wiggles to get out of my arms and tells me... all finished.
