Really looking for ideas.. please help

We are leaving for Hawaii in a few days- My sister (Thank you so much Rachel and Rob) gave Tyler a very neat bag for trips, with all kinds of books, magnets, crayons, books, etc... in it.  It will keep Tyler occupied on the trip with no problems- We are also buying a movie to go on the IPOD for the trip incase he needs it-

BUT - then we have a 10.5 month old who only wants to crawl, climb, walk with an adult, and be all over the place all the time... HOW DO YOU ENTERTAIN THAT!

I would love some ideas- Anything- I would even love to buy some toys that she can play with if there is something good out there to keep her happy for a one hour flight and then a five and a half hour flight... HELP I NEED IDEAS~

We accidentally overdosed Fred on Robitussin the other day. He was pretty tired most of the day, and he didn't die, so maybe you could try that. :)

If you are lucky, they plane won't be full and you can take a carseat on and strap her down. That's the only thing that we've found to work well.

I don't have any advise only a comment of jealousy...Can I go with you?!?!? I want to go so bad.

Hahah I would test the medicine thing first, some kids get SUPER hyped up on the same stuff.
I agree with the car seat thing, it would be super nice if you could do that!
Will she watch movies? That's our personal form of tranquilizer, portable DVD player.

Ditto the car seat. Also ask for the bulkhead, when she gets really antsy you can put a blanket down and let her play at your feet for a bit(bulkhead has more foot space). I'd also bring a few of the absolute most favorite toys, and a few new ones. Anything that shakes or moves, but is quiet is best.

Don't be afraid to walk the aisles either, people totally understand. We usually do several laps, and if you can get her to walk it even better!!

A lot of the time Edamame sleeps on the plane too, he's just too excited to nap before we start flying, so that helps a lot too. Plus nursing on ascent and descent helps with their ears, and keeps them asleep.

it wasn't robitussin. it was benadryl. and he really wasn't that tired.
nothing works. constant entertainment (peek-a-boo, etc.)but then they get overstimulated and over-tired and that is when the going gets rough.
if the bulkhead is the front row then i would avoid it. we tried that before but the front row often doesn't have fold-down trays which makes drink time a disaster.
painters tape is our favorite for toddlers. and we used it to tape fred's hands together. and over his mouth.
if your kids are obnoxious just buy everyone drinks.
why are you even taking them? tyler has already been and ella is too young. you should have ditched them.

We took Ian on a 20 hour each way drive to Canada last year. He was only 1. Some of the things that worked best for him were a hand puppet, a slinky, books, and lots of treats he really likes. There were also some noisy toys he really liked, but I'm sure others on the plane wouldn't enjoy them as much. He also did lots of sleeping.

Just whatever you decide to give her for distraction...make sure it's something different than her usual toys. Novelty always helps. I would splurge on a couple new toys that she can get excited about. That can be a tricky age!
Have so much fun...I can't wait to hear about it!

please do not forget the value of motrin and tylenol on the plane.
