Grand Canyon Fail

After months of training we set out on our big adventure down into the Grand Canyon.  We made it for one day and turned around.  Surprise Canyon is still a surprise waiting for us.  We read the GPS tracks wrong and were off track by about 5 hours.  We did find a beautiful arrowhead which we left there since the law says you have to.  When woke at 4:00 AM, drove 3 hours, hiked 5 hours until we were sufficiently off track and finally figured it out, spent hours trying to cross country hike back to our canyon, then saw the cliffs below us and no water below us to drink and had to quit and head back to the car.  We made it out in the dark but were grateful for the full moon so we could find the Cairns. We made it back to St George by 1:00 AM.  It was a heck of a long day.  The cactus's and yucca plants loved me.  I left with many sharp things in my legs that would take days to come out.

After a good night rest we stopped at the DI and bought some costumes.  We had to do some canyoneering and make a music video, Thriller!
