Saturday- Slot canyon by Kodachrome Basin
South of Cannonville
- Bull Valley Gorge - 2-4 hours- more of a hike near Dunham Canyon, short 10m rope - muddy https://www.roadtripryan.com/go/t/utah/escalante/bullvalley
This was a super cool Gorge. It was fascinating to see the truck wedged between the slot canyon walls. Sad story about the three fathers whose car rolled off the edge 50+ years ago. Hiking out of the Gorge was the worst part but not bad. It was just hot as we hiked up and out.
After Lunch-
- Dunham Canyon - 3-4 hours- No water -two 83 ft rappel- A nice half day outing. Could need to set a deadman for last rappel https://www.roadtripryan.com/go/t/utah/escalante/dunham-slot
Beautiful. The kids all did great with the Rappelling. We loved getting to the end and reaching the river. We cooled off and then headed out. Again... hiking out is always the hardest part.
- Kodachrome State Park- Angel’s Palace and Shakespeare Arch good hikes. We ended up not doing any hikes in Kodachrome. Shakespeare arch had fallen.
- Willis Creek Slot - 1-3 hours- 2A small flowing stream all year - need wading shoes- We didn't make it to Wills Creek. Another time.
