May 2020

At the beginning of May we were still trying to adjust to quarantine and some were breaking out of the rigid tightness and others were just not caring anymore.  We were somewhere in the middle.  I had a lived for several months multi tasking around my kitchen sink.  trying to feed my family while helping them with homework and running a house.  I felt like I was a captain of a ship but my steering while was this lovely kitchen sink.

We wanted to celebrate our beloved Ang's birthday so we spaced out and had an early morning yoga session.  It was a lovely morning with the light pouring through the trees.

We enjoy zoom calls with the Harston and Balls families some Sundays.   Nolan got married.  It was the first day the temples were opened back up.  Nolan got to have three people in the temple from his side.  I got to hang out with kids outside.  It was a big day - different then what they were expecting but I wish them all the happiness in the world.

Dentist appointments... with masks on.  On line school.  They kids did amazing.  They finished the year off successfully.  We did make it up to the cabin a few times to help Grandma with spring clean up.  We also got to enjoy lots of rides out in Corner Canyon.

Balls Allen cousin weekend

We got to take Nolans boys while he and Kristy moved into their new house.  It was such a fun weekend.  We went on a bike ride to "the Jungle" in Corner Canyon.  They enjoyed exploring and then enjoyed biking all the way home.  Jenny and Eric had an anniversary so I took their kids also so they could hike Mnt Olympus.  The kids always seem to get along so well.  We had a great water fight and they played outside most of the day.

Dinner was 18 kids which means 4 boxes of Mac and Cheese with veggies and applesauce.  They had sword fights, water fights, homemade scones with powdered sugar and cinnamon sugar, and then at 8 we shut it all down.  It was clean up and relax. It had  been a fun busy day.

The next day Darren and Tyler went to ride in AF canyon for a long ride.  I shuttled the kids up to Little Valley to get some rides in.  They were so excited to ride again.  Most of the kids rode their bikes home from Potato Hill which was several miles.  We grabbed popsicles and a pool at the store and made it home before they did.  They were hot and tired but everything is better when there is water and popsicles.

The Allens left late afternoon and we relaxed.  They had a lovely breakfast outside and wished Jackson could be there with them.  We had a lovely at home church.  Darren prepared a delicious meal on the grill.  Pat and Seth came down from Logan to celebrate Seth's bday with us.  Nolan and Kristy came and visited and took kids home to start a new adventure..... 6 kids under one house.  I know they will do a great job.

Memorial Day Weekend 2020

This will be one of my favorite trips to the cabin.  It was so nice to have family there but especially my little family.  We arrived on Friday night and settled in.  We were excited to hear the Allens were coming Friday night instead of Saturday.  We started up with playing Cover your Assets and continued to play a dozen times a day.

On Saturday we drove to High Star Ranch and did some fun mnt biking.  It was cool temperatures which were perfect for biking.  Lots of throwing rocks into the canal.  Every day Darren and I took a long walk and found different roads I had never been on.

On Sunday we had two cute twin-ner girls who looked adorable for church.  We had to do a little photo shoot.  It was a lovely church in the cabin.  After lunch we hiked up Noblets Canyon to the meadow.  I would like to go back and go up further.  Ella wanted s'mores so she started a fire.  Abby and Asher played great together and were attaching Miles and Darren!

The long walks with Darren was just what I needed.

Monday Tyler and Darren headed out for a long ride.  The road to Smith and Morehouse and then beyond.  Darren said we all need to go back and do a backpacking trip up there!

On the way home we stopped in Park City at Round Valley.  I got to bike with Tyler and Ella.  They were eager to get home to a bday party for our friend so they road so fast and I just tried to stay with them.  Darren took Abby for a fun ride and a bit of tree climbing and tire swinging.

Fantastic weekend.  Couldn't ask for better.
