March in Moab

We skipped out of town and went to a Moab for a long weekend.  We stopped at Bar M and did some riding.  The temperature for the whole weekend was amazing.  A light sweater or short sleeves.  Tyler, Ella and I took off and did a few different loops.  Darren got to go with Abby.  Beautiful country.  Moab has trails for every ability which is nice.

Darren and Tyler wanted to hit a big trail called the Portal Trail so the girls and I headed into Arches to do Devils Garden. Its been on my bucket list for a long time . I think I did a little bit of it as a kid.  You hit Landscape Arch first and then just keep going to more and more arches.  We didn't want to get caught in the dark so we were really hauling to get the whole 6-7 miles in.  We made it out right as the light was gone.

We were so excited to get out of Arches and get cell service.  We were hungry and needed to meet up with the boys.  Bad news.. they had miscalculated the trail and were still hours from being done in the dark.  I could find them on "Find my Friends".  We were just below the 500 foot cliff they were walking along.... for two hours.  Luckily it was a full moon so they had that.  Since they didn't have flashlights.  Un-luckily- It was daylight savings the next day so it was dark at 6:00 pm instead of 7:00 pm.  It really was a miracle we found them.  I had all but given up on finding them when they literally walked out on to the road.  It was a huge blessing.
The next morning half the group - the older half of the group went biking.  The little kids and the moms went for a bike/walk along the river trail.

We headed up to Longbow Arch.  Great hike.  I really would have loved to bring my Rappelling gear but it was ok.  We saw great petroglyphs.  Amazing views.  We had a lovely church service under the Arch.  It was beautiful and peaceful.  Darren took the kids on a random path back to the cars.  I get nervous not being on the trail but they found a way with some stemming involved.

We also went to Dellenbaugh tunnel.  A fun jeep ride with a fun hike to see a fun tunnel.  The lighting for pictures was fun.  Secret Spire on the way was beautiful.
