Family updates

So Ella has been a lot of fun this last two weeks. I guess it will be two full weeks on Thursday. A few nights of less sleep but overall we have just loved having her here. Tyler has done so well with her. He loves to be with her and kiss her- leaving some kind of leftover food in her hair...

We have been on some walks, had some late night talks (mostly about hurry and eat so I can go back to bed) Darren has been a great help to get up in the nights with me when I am tired and she is still fussy...

We are open for any ideas of why she seems to really fuss and cry, arch her back and be upset for about an hour and a half every night- I thought it might be chocolate- but what do you do with a really fussy baby when you want to be a sleep- advice

i would try cutting things out of your diet. but if its too late and you find yourself with a fussy baby then just try to be patient. gas drops and gripe water didn't work for fred. i usually just end up sleeping with him in my arms and when he wakes i bounce him or pat his back. its rough. but they'll be grown before we know it.
cute pictures.

It'll take a couple weeks for the bad thing to work out of your system so give it some time, and if it isn't chocolate, try milk, eggs, wheat, blah blah blah.

Otherwise yeah, good luck, and try taking her to bed with you!

Amy,
If you think that this is a food (milk) allergy and you are still breast feeding talk to Liz. We found out the really hard way with Anne and Kate. Even though people don't realize it your breast milk still has lactose in it even if you drop milk and other dairy products.
As for sleep, if there isn't a food problem, what we have found is to make sure to put the baby to bed prior to the baby falling asleep. It is great for them to learn to put themselves to sleep. It is tough sometimes, but overall worth it.

I remember oh so vividly being so beat! Ian is only 5 1/2 months old now. If you really are looking for advice, I'd call your ped about her arching her back when she eats or right after. That shouldn't happen. I wonder if babies that small can have reflux already :( Or maybe your milk comes slow for her and she is not patient enough to wait for it. That's how Josh was. Seriously call me if you want to talk. You still have my number, right?

I REALLLY reccommend cutting out milk. most babies can't handle it. sid did not like soy or goats either. i drink hemp or almond. I waited two months to cut it out because i was just told that babies get fussy at night - ever since i stopped eating milk- then he was fine. if i eat it now he still gets fussy. chocolate is fine for sid. and non-organic chicken makes him fussy as with peanuts.i would sleep with sid too like katie and bounce him when he woke up fussy.
