Dog sitting

First I must mention, I have updated the pictures of Tyler's room. There are now things on the walls, like the quilt Pat made for Tyler. (also a bulletin board, book shelves, and the cute black and white picture of him on his bike.) Hopefully the room looks a bit more cozy now, instead of bare walls.

As for dog sitting, we got to have Brody in our home for 5 days. He was a very good dog, not as calm as Toby, but really what dog is. But he is a bit taller than Toby, just enough that he can put his head on the kitchen table, on your pillow at night, and give you a good smack with his strong tail. BUT if I WAS ever going to get another dog, I would want one with Brody's personality. He was so loving and good. When the owners came to pick him up they brought Tyler a Tigger from Disneyland. So the next morning Tyler had to show Tigger all his toys- he lined up all his trucks, shared a toy cell phone with Tigger and then said, I need to show Tigger how to play the piano soft. So Tyler has his piggy on one side of him, and Tigger on the other- I did not pose this picture.

Regardless- I will never ever let Darren talk me into having two dogs at a time. Can you imagine two dogs and a double wide stroller. NO!!! (and for that matter- Toby is such a good dog- we dont ever need to get another one after him- no dog could be as good!!!)

Tyler's haircut

Amy threatened that she was going to cut Tyler's hair but not until February 28th. Then one morning last week she called me at work and asked me how much I loved her. After being married for a few years now, I have learned that translates to: "Don't be mad at me, but I did something you are not going to like." When I came home from lunch Tyler ran up to me and said, "I got my hair cut Daddy and we threw it in the garbage." I am now teaching Tyler to run and hide whenever Mom gets out the haircutting scissors. It's really not that bad of a haircut I just liked it longer.

Friends

I had a great weekend with friends and family- I enjoy the friendships I have very much with everyone. Thank you.

ps. I am due in 7 weeks, oh how the belly grows!

The new room

We still have a few things to hang on the walls but this is Tyler's new room. Darren did a great job on it. I would have left it how it was, - quite plain but practical. Darren went for the fun kid room, with bright colors. Tyler wants to sleep on the top bunk - we told him when he is three he can. He loves to play in his room, and went to bed great tonight.

Fire house

We went to the firehouse with a bunch of neighbors the other day. Tyler was so excited, but got a bit scared by the fireman all geared up in his clothes and then the big fire-trucks themselves. It took some time to even get him to sit in the firetruck. so no smiles just nervousness on his face. You have to know though that he was so excited to go for days before that he would only talk about that. He wouldn't even eat breakfast before we went he was so excited. So it was a bit funny to see him being nervous. I held him almost the whole time. But now, he just wants to go again.

Crazy Hair Contest Winner

For Valentines we made heart shape pancakes for our daddy. But more importantly I wanted everyone to see how cute my son is when he wakes up. This is a normal morning, his hair is getting so long that it takes patients and time to get it combed out in the back after waking up, nap time and just sitting in his car seat. Darren really wants me to trim it up, ....right??? so I guess I will!!!

Tyler racing his cousin Michael to the park on a walk Sunday.

Tyler's cousins (Michael and Jordan) came to visit this weekend.  We went to Grandpa and Grandma Harston's for dinner and to play.  This was one of the quieter moments.  They had just finished playing 'no more monkeys jumping on the bed' .

change of plan

Darren and I feel a bit silly having our updates sent to everyones email box every time we post something. Especially if we want to do several posts in one sitting then you would get way to many emails in your inbox- and frankly- that could be a bit annoying. Now that you all know the tylerandcompany.blogspot.com address, we welcome you to visit it any time you would like. I would like Tyler's grandparents to continue to get the updates, so I will just modify the list of those who get every update. If you would like to continue to get every update let me know. I would just hate to be bugging people with our updates.

Darren did just post a poll to have everyone vote on what they think the best name should be for our baby girl. We really cant decide. So log on and tell us what you think.

Tyler's first bike ride

In between storms this Saturday we took tyler on his first 'bike ride'  we went down the street and then south to the stop sign.  He loved it.  Especially trying to run over Daddy.  Next week he should be ready for about a 15 miler, with a helmet of course.

Making Cookies

Tyler and Mom love to cook together.  They made cookies a couple days ago.  I think a couple of them even got into the oven.
