Moab with Nolan and the boys

We headed to Moab with Nolan and his boys.  It was super fun to have Sandra bring her family too.  We did some biking at Bar M with the whole crew on Friday.   On Saturday we did some biking at the Navajo mnt bike trails.  When it got cooler in the evening we headed to Hunter Canyon to explore and find the waterfall at the back.  On Sunday we made it to church then canyoneered Pool Arch.  We had a big group which took some time to get through, but it was memorable.

Big Canyon and the Little Colorado

Lacey had a spot on her permit so I jumped in and got to go on a last-minute Grand Canyon adventure.  It was actually the "Big Canyon" down to the "Little Colorado".  Sadly it had just rained and stormed so the water wasn't the crystal clear blue water.  Instead, it was high and fast and muddy.   I drove down with Lindsey, Lacey's sister.  We met up with Lacey and a new girl named Amy.  so we called ourselves the LALA team.  We got an early start and headed down.  We got into our wetsuits pretty quick.  Beautiful area. Rappelling over the waterfalls was awesome.  We found the main camp spot.  We all turned din early since we knew we had an early start with a long day.   The hike out Salt Trail Canyon was long and long.  You just can't think about it.  You just have to know that every step takes you closer to the top.  It was some fun class 4/5 climbing at the top.

Family Spring Break 2024

This was an amazing vacation.  It was so laid back. We don't ever do that.  It was just our family.  We invited others but only our family ended up coming and it was amazing.  Abby and I dropped off Tyler, Ella, and Darren in Leeds.  They biked through some trails and then headed to the St. George house.  Abby and I unloaded the cooler at the house and the started north on the biking trails to meet up with them.  Abby ended up doing about 16 miles RT.  It was super fun to have our little bike team flying down the path to home.

Another day we went out to Gooseberry Mesa and Wire Mesa.  It was great.  I got some mnt biking in on my own.  So refreshing.

Another fun part of this trip was sleeping in.  Waking up late.  Playing games during dinner.  Watching movies (Batman, Napolene Dynamite, MaMa Mia) with popcorn until midnight.  We would do an adventure or bike ride in the morning and then go sit by the pool, paddleboard or take a nap.  We took walks and played pickleball.

We crossed the Virgin River one day to head up to Cherry Canyon in the Virgin River Gorge.  What a fun place to be alone and not with a million people.

One day we headed into the Bloomington Cave.  It was so well marked you couldn't get lost.  It was hot down there.  I was expecting cold.

After church we headed down a road into Arizona and found a great hike called Fossil Canyon.  It lightly rained and made everything beautiful.

On our last day we met up with the Larrabees.  We hoped to do Lady Mountain in Zion but there was no parking.  We ended up going to Lower Clear Creek/Hobbitville.  Next, we did some Rappelling in Diana's throne and exited out Elkheart Cilffs.  Then cruised over to Belly of the Dragon to see the man-made cave.
