Tylers 13th Birthday

Tylers a pretty great kid so its easy to celebrate him!  His sister gave a big hug since it was his last night being 12!  The next morning was his official birth day.... even thought he wasn't born until about 7 at night.  We had puff pancakes.  Lots of peaches and whip cream on them. It was a busy day on his actual birthday so we plowed through all that stuff to get to go to Bahama Bucks that night.  The real celebration was a few days a way.

We had a great party.  No presents just a big party.  All the neighbhor kids his age came.  We had some blow up slides, sumo suites and pizza outside.  As it got darker we got out the slack line and roasted marshmallows.  Ella is a sweet sister who wanted to get him some kind of gift.  She bought a few fun things with her money.  One of them was silly string that she sprayed all over him when they sang him happy birthday.

Tony Grove Camping/ Bear Lake

A weekend in September we raced away with friends to get in another camping trip.  Darren has been itching to take the kids to Tony Grove in Logan.  We found a great camp sight and made our selves at home.  We hiked around the lake.  We hiked up to White Pine Lake. We ate lots of good food.  We played some games. The kids enjoyed the hammocks.  On the last day we drove over the mountain to Bear Lake.  We had kayaks and a paddleboard.  If it hadn't been so windy it would have been perfect.  We bundled up and headed to Le Beaus for a famous raspberry shake.  Then we headed to Logan to visit with Pat and Seth.  They had a delicious dinner waiting for us.

Grateful the leaves were spectacular.  Abbys longest hike.  9 miles.

DPMS bike team

Tyler rode with the Draper Park Middle School Team.  He met some good people and got stronger.  He got to ride and train with Darren a bunch. I love that they have that to do together.

Tyler had races in Snowbasin, Vernal and Soldier Hollow.  Each race was fun.  I especially like the Vernal one since we got to go to the Dinosaur Museum and see real bones.  I had been there as a kid but I sure learned a bunch more as an adult.  Camping in dusty Vernal was also an adventure.  The girls and I stopped at Pineview reservior as we waited for Tyler and Darren.  Grandma and Grandpa Balls came to cheer on at the Snowbasin race.  I got to be a course marshall for the Soldier Hollow race.
