St George State Mnt Bike Championships 2022

This was an emotional and amazing weekend.  My kids have been spinning, riding outside and training about 5 days a week since January.  This is the weekend for that to pay off.  It was tough.  Ella raced Friday and did well.  She was rated 4th in our region.  Then add in all the regions so started about 17th.  She finished about there even with a total blockage in the course where the ride leaders got a huge gap and the race was over just as it had started.  The weather was sunny for her.  Saturday started windy and ended extremely windy for Tylers race.  He enjoyed this season in Varsity and will crush it next season.  He crashed... again!  The wind was 20-30 miles per hour pushing him around.  His sunglasses got blown off by the wind.  He could hardly breath as he was inhaling so much dust.  So proud of him for finishing.  It was 100% survival mode.

The coaches and girls Ella trains with are amazing.  So grateful for them and their influence on my girl.  There were so many people at the race.  Absolutely packed.  Abby got to go on a bike ride with a friend.  She did a great job cheering her brother and sister on.

The drive home took forever.  We hit rain then snow then slick roads.  So grateful for Darren and his ability to handle those roads.
