Final Days at Fallen Leaf Campground

This trip was a vacation for real!  Ella started to feel better by the end so she was able to get a ride or two in.  I was wiped out almost the entire time.  Tyler and Darren did some amazing biking through some burned out forest.  We did bike down to Lake Tahoe one day and play in the water.  The icecream after was cold as were we since we had just gotten in the Lake.  I suppose we will have to go back one day because I had so many things I would have loved to do but I was too tired and sick to do much.  BUT the time sitting around at the lake, relaxing, paddle boarding, and playing games with my kids was priceless.

We did have a bear come into our campsite one night.  I had been coughing so much I had opted to sleeping in the hammock next to our picnic table.  I had put some crushed empty gatorade bottles in a bag in a tote box so I could recycle them.  Well.... bears can smell very well. I was woken up in the night by a bear next to me throwing the box to try to get into it.  I was so grateful Darren heard the noise and woke up.  I slept in the truck after that.
