Cove Canyon Grand Canyon Day 2 and 3

We woke up with an incredible view.  We knew we had some good mileage to cover if we were going to make it to our next camp spot.  The rappels were beautiful.  I found a mylar balloon which is always crazy that you can be in the middle of no where and still find mylar balloons that have flown away.

We found a great swimming hole.  It was cold but so refreshing.  We had a good time jumping in.

Our lunch spot to filter was perfect. Our cameras just can't capture how it really looks.
The last rap into Cove is beautiful.  People float the Green River and hike up to this spot but its almost sad because there is so much beauty just up over the previous ledge.  We hiked out of the slot and saw the River.  We enjoyed taking a nap in the sunshine before we started out float.

Carrying rappelling gear, the boat, a lifejacket, a paddle, food, water, and sleeping gear makes for a heavy pack.  So grateful I had been working on strengthening my knees.  We got out right before the heavy duty rapids.

We slept on the soft sandy beach.  We had an early start out so we could beat the sun as much as possible.  A few cool spots where you don't want to lose your footing.  Its a bit harder with everything when you have a heavy pack on your back.

We made it out and Katie was the champion and rode the oldest bike in the world back to our other car so we didn't have to walk an additional 5 + miles.  It was amazing to have a hike out of the Grand Canyon not kill me.  The trailhead was lower into the canyon so we only had to climb out half as much!
