August 2020

August- It was hot... I bottled some tomatoes and corn from our garden.  I want to always remember Abby and her "tiggie".  Ella got braces.  Tyler worked at the cabin helping reinforce the bank.  I kept working out at my Crossfit gym. We got to see Ang perform with her band.   We celebrated Aunt Lindas birthday at Waffle Love.  We had brunch with the Minnicks and the Snowders.  We celebrated Pats 69th birthday with a yummy bbq and with Nolan and his boys.

Darren hiked Mnt Superior.  He and Tyler did some good biking.

Abby worked on an art project for Grandpa Harston.
First Day of School for Ella and friends.  Thankfully Abbys second grade teacher took a picture. And I  never got one of Tyler.

Ellas friends being creative since they were bored!

Hike with Tawnie to Blood Lake.  I jumped in for a quick cold swim... remembering my brave sister Race who is the queen of jumping into cold water in Canada!

Darren blasted his toe apart with a power washer.

Two Cabin trips in August

School started a week late because of COVID.  Since everyone was in town with not much to do we took a quick cabin trip with a bunch of Ellas friends. (and Abby had a friend too). They played in the river, steamed in the sauna, had tons of treats and made lots of happy noise.  Until... Abby got her finger shut in the play room door. She was in so much pain and we thought she might loose the tip of her finger.  The finger nail was all the way off.  Darren jumped in the car and drove up to Park City and then found out they wouldn't let him in.  Only one person in at a time.  He wins dad of the year!  When we got back all of Ella's friends pampered her in their spa they had created.  She felt loved.

Two days later we went back up to the cabin with some family friends.  We had a great big group.  We went to Smith and Morehouse and played on the water.  It was really low.  We played games until late and ate more good food.  We all tried the swing- those that were brave enough.

McCall Idaho- Payette Lake

We drove up to McCall twice.  It was awfully chilly one day so we stayed in our jackets almost all day.  It was yummy to visit IceCream Alley both times.  Delicious ice-cream.  We biked around the Huckleberry Peninsula.  Great views.  We found a fun little park to swim at on our way back to our campsite.  The swimming lanes were so neat.  We loved jumping off the dock.  It was warmer then Whistler!

Lake Cascade- Idaho

Idaho is the place to go...

I loved visiting the area around McCall Idaho.  We couldn't get a camping spot in McCall which turned out to be great.  We stayed south of McCall on Lake Cascade.  West Mountain Campground.  We had a wonderful camping spot next to the Lake. I love sleeping all in the same tent.    There was a wonderful peninsula we enjoyed.  We loved our paddle boards, hammocks and played games.  Tamarack Ski Resort/Biking was a mile away.  The first day Tyler and Darren road in one spot and the girls and I enjoyed some less steep riding.  We found loads of wild raspberries to eat.
