Ski day with the girls

I got to go skiing with some of my girl friends on a wonderful sunny Saturday.  Tyler was at an organ convention all day.  Ella and Abby got to hang out with their Dad and go on a fun hike to the suspension bridge.  He said they were super strong and didn’t complain!

I got to sleep over at Angs house with Kate and Lacey.  Then we woke up early to head to the mountains.  It had just snowed a ton so we were really excited.  But Snowbird was also the only resort still open so we had some lines!…. all day!

It really was amazing snow.  Everywhere you went was just fluffy white stuff.

We were about half way through the line in the picture below.  There are people all the way up the mountain trying to load.  We had to rest at the top of the Mnt in the lodge just to make it back down to the car safely.  We really skied our legs off.  Then back to sugarhouse for some Indian food… good day!

April 2017- Easter and activities

Darren seems some pretty cool places when he rides.  I would love the alone time up there where it is quiet and peaceful.

Renee had a baby and the girls just loved baby Clara.  Abby thinks she is so big but really she just needs to take a good nap sometimes. April was our big project month.  We hauled away tons of dirt to our neighbor Grandma Susans house.  We had lovely raised flower beds but the erosion it caused was terrible.  So we dug out all the dirt and made it flat so we could put in a patio in our walk out basement.  4 weekends of heavy dirt, sometimes wet dirt, wheelbarrowing it- left some damage to my shoulder and elbow.  I was climbing a lot at the time too and between both things (here it is June and I am still out for the count!)

We did have a wonderful Easter egg hunt at Grandma Susans house.  We invited G.ma and Gpa down to see it and Corie and Nolan brought their boys.  I enjoy the family time.

Sunday we had our own quiet day to celebrate Easter.  Then Monday we had some cousins over for lunch.  Julie Rupp told us she was having twin boys!  So exciting for her.  Abby tried out soccer.  It lasted all of about 2 minutes standing crying on the field.  She really was just terrified so we pulled her out.  She assured me when she was older it would be ok.  We also worked on some more joy school with the neighborhood kids.  Abby learned so much this year, thanks to Christina Hamptons leadership and teaching.

We made it to the zoo once with friend Finn and cousin Orian and Megan.  We loved celebrating Shawns bday at the climbing gym.  I think its amazing how good people come into your lives.  We met her husband Andy climbing a Mnt and have latched on to them every since!

Ella is Turing into quite a cutie pie.  She wears earrings and dresses cuter then me any day!  She has turned to books and enjoys reading more and more.  We love our basement reading nook with the sunshine pouring in!

A dreamy Sunday as a family

We seem to rush everywhere doing everything all the time.  But sometimes we have those gift days.  Everything slows down and just seems ok.  We missed Ella while she was in Florida so we took advantage of the nice day to have a family adventure in the hill behind our home when she got home.

Walking on some dirt trails and playing on rocks.

We scrambled up some rocks to fine a cozy little cave/nook to hang out in.

As we rushed back to our car hoping to not get poured on a big rainbow came out.  Its nice to finish up a weekend together so we are ready for Monday!  a new week!

Ellas Trip to Florida

For Ellas Christmas present she got part of a plan ticket to fly to Florida to see her cousin who were from Kentucky…. they were spring breaking in Pensacola Florida for a week.  She got to fly with my parents there. Super early flight and showing Grandpa how to play angry birds.

There is a red flag in the background of this picture because there just so happened to be a typhoon warning part of the week.  They heard there were washed up sharks.  The saw turtles.  But they didn’t play in the ocean much… Thank goodness for pools.

They went to a zoo place, and an airplane place.

Abby wanted to pack up and go to Florida because she saw that Ella was having so much fun!

And on the last night she and Grandpa had to sort though all kinds of treasures and find just the right ones to bring home!
