Halloween 2016

My girls got to dress up as several different things for Halloween.  Mostly dancers, cheerleaders, gymnasts, ballerinas… that genre.  I loved Ella’s costume as a USA gold medal gymnast.
Abby got to do some fun Halloween things with her preschool class.  Pumpkin patch then pumpkin decorating

Trick or treating in our neighborhood.  Each year we get to stay out a little bit later and thats fun.  We have some fun houses in our neighborhood that make it even more special to go out.  We have gone with cousin Megan and her kids the last few years.

October 2016

I love the ladies here in the neighborhood.  Vy did a beautifying class.  Teaching us all how to do face  cleansing.  She is the expert and has a billion samples and products.

We had a watermelon fest with the lsat of our watermelons before they froze.  cracking them open to see if there was any goodness in there!

Joy school fun.  Pumpkins and learning about the letter M.

Growing our own pumpkins and carving them out on a warm day.  Those happy mom moments when we get to be all together.  doing fun things.  Then we went for a bike ride after on the “mother ship.”  Abby can be right there with us.

We went to a fun Halloween activity place.  The maze was great.  fun carousel.  The older boys went in the haunted house area with me.  We had to talk a lot about how they are actors and it isn’t real.

I got to unpack books for my library.  Its still a work in progress.  And I took my friend Taylor on her first Mnt bike ride.  I forget how much work it is when just starting.  She did great.

Fall Break 2016 @ the Cabin

Schools out for fall break.  We had a crew of friends up at the cabin.  Melchoirs, Haroldsen, Allens, Nolans boys, and my kids.  We hiked the Mnt across from the cabin.  It was steep.  The 3 littles didn’t make it but the rest did.  It was awesome.

Shannon was amazing and stuck with Abby as I left her and got the kids up the mnt.  They lined up from oldest to youngest, holding up their fingers to show how old they were at the top.  I kept reminding them of the chocolate cake I had back down at the cabin!  We all made it down mostly alive!

Sliding down the stairs in sleeping bags.  Jonnn and I tried it.  ouch.  I was too tense and hurt my back.  I use to be so young… now I am old and falling apart.  We had good food and good company.  Some quiet time.  Pat and Seth came up for a day.

We all climbed into Marcus’s truck and went 4 wheeling back into the woods and found a beautiful river and trees to climb on.  Some of the kids wanted to run home… YES!  I like kids worn out!

We played outside some and played plenty of games inside.  Did a service project to pay for our stay and told the kids the story of the miracle of Shannon getting off the mountain from the swing.  It is such a miracle of a story.  The cabin will always be such a special place to me.  A place of peace.
