CCHS Mnt bike race Eagle Mountain

First mountain bike race of the season.  I was hiking the Grand Teton so Darren was all in.  Ella got podium and Tyler is going to have a great season racing Varsity.   

Grand Teton Girls Weekend Day 2

Angs nice mother got up and served us a yummy fresh breakfast.  We could see the grand out the back kitchen window and knew we had a long day ahead of us.  Quick stop for bday/group pictures.  Then up we go.  

I didn't want to pay attention to all the details of how long it took to get how high... so I just enjoyed the hike and tried to breath.  My lungs and calves were in for a long day.  

We made it up to the Glacier Morain and found a good campsite.  We knew the weather wasn't looking good.  But we had some food, filtered some water, practice the ropes and knots for the technical stuff the next day.  We were all in our tents by 6:30 and falling asleep.  

 

Grand Teton Girls Weekend Day 1

We left Wednesday night and slept in a tent on the side of the road.  It rained and rained.  I am grateful I am a good sleeper, it didn't bother me.  We arrived at 5:50 AM on Thursday to sit in line and get permits for the Grand. I slept/hung outside the ranger station until they opened at 8:00.  We were first in line so we got the permit.  Now we had a day to kill!  We hiked around Taggart Lake then went to bike down some fun downhill trails on the Teton Pass.  We meet Lacey and Stacie at Ang's place where her dad and mom cooked us a delicious dutch oven dinner.  We had some bday cake too for Katie and Lacey.  Then the packing and arranging party began.   

 

Bike Camp 2022

We loved bike camp. We had so many kids who loved coming.  My kids had a great time.  Abby got to ride a bunch with kids her age.  

 

July 2022

Beautiful hike to Desolation Lake with Katie and Ang.  The lighting was amazing.  These girls are good for my soul.  Also hiked up to Eniss Peak a few times to get ready for the Grand Teton. 

Abby had a summer challenge - each week was something different.  Learning to be detectives was great.  Darren got to dress and help in the primary.  Abby had a little surgery on her foot to get a wire out of her foot.  Ella had a great time at an iCup race with friends.  Celebrated Darrens birthday with a yummy dinner and dessert with friends.  Bike Camp was fun for all involved.
