September 2021

A few fun highlights from September.  Darren took us on the Wasatch Crest trail.  Lauren was nice to come with us.  I was the slow one.  They were amazing and so were the leaves.

Darren did the South Ridge of Superior with some friends.  We took the kids up Sawmill trail on a Sunday walk.

Abby and Grace - spies undercover.  Abby also had a fun Draper Dragon Dash at her school.  She also had a fun crazy hair day!

I took a group of activity boys up to the fun rocks by the suspension bridge.  Its a calling in church I feel I can do.  We also had a day of remembrance when 9/11 came around.  20 years ago.  wow.

Soren and Abby had a funeral for a bird they found.  They wrote a whole eulogy and dressed in black.  Tyler also got asked to a dance and he and Tate had fun answering her.

Tylers 16th Birthday

Tyler turned 16.  How did the time pass? He had a lot of friends over before a football game. It was fun to have good food and and fun friends.  Tyler wanted a bounce house and we sure got some great use out of it.  He had friends play on it, Harston and Balls cousins play on it, and neighbors play on it. So fun.  Tylers actual birthday was Sunday.  He played for a friends mission farewell.  Then we had a lovely day with the Balls family.  (The Harston family was here to celebrate on Saturday night)

Bike Races September 2021

Snowbasin- First race of the season.  It was so nice to be close so we could just drive up early in the morning.  Tyler got 2-3 flat tires and didn't place well.  Regardless I was so proud of both of them.

Vernal- Long drive but fun.  We got to sleep in our new truck tent.  We had lots of friends around and that was makes the races fun.  The kids did great.  Darren has really been a great coach for them.

Right Fork of North Creek Day 2

Our second day in the canyon started off with a bang.  We found a nice paw print next to our camp site.  It wasn't there then night before! We were glad we had all slept well with a cat on the prowl.  We slipped back on our cold wet suits and jumped back into the water.  We found some beautiful waterfalls.  Some great pools to swim in and down climb.  The Grand Alcove was Grand and large.

We finally found a spring were we could find fresh water. Lovely fresh water.  Then we started a good hike out.  It was lovely and actually relatively cool weather. It was Laceys birthday weekend so she bought us all fun clothes and we made a silly dance movie.

Right Fork of North Creek Day 1

I love these adventure ladies.  We have done so many fun things together.  This adventure was close by Subway but one canyon over. We had an early start and had beautiful weather.  Some pretty good bush wacking for a while.  But we finally made it to the first rappel.  We discovered that the flash floods that had crashed through early in the summer and wiped out almost all of our rappel spots.  Webbing was damaged and buried.  Everything took so long to do.  Many of the wet suit swims were filled with logs and smelly debry.  We had some major log soup to crawl through.  We weren't able to make it to fresh water that night.  We had to filter and strain some water from a somewhat drinkable pothole.  We got some rest, not to eager to put back on our wet wetsuits the next morning.
