Summer Hikes- Lake Blanche

Lake Blanche has been on my list for a long time. This is the third time I've tried to make it to the lake. We had no idea it would be so steep and so hard. We had a great group including my parents and a bunch of Rupp kids. Candace's kids came and we met Amber Larrabee's family there.  Definitely one of my favorite destinations at the top. The day wasn't too hot which made it doable

Seattle and Home- July 4th

We stopped at Rachels house on the way home from Whistler.  She had ice cream for us and fresh watermelon.  But she also had showers!!!  We all were excited about beds and showers.  We played a bit and then took off early morning so we could make the drive not as long.  We wanted to get back for the 4th of July fireworks in Sandy.

Whistler BC, Canada Day 4

Our last day in Whistler Darren woke up early to go on one more bike ride.  We hung out at the campground and cleaned up.  We sure loved have Talbot from the Sundance Ski team with us.  Abby sure loved her.

We stopped at the Lynn Canyon Park Suspension bridge.  Saw some cool cliff jumpers which is my kind of thing.  I love to see old trees too.  Old dead trees being "nurse trees" to new trees growing.

And getting across the border on the 3rd of July was not the best idea.  The traffic of people celebrating Canada Day and the 4th of July was not fun!

Whistler BC, Canada- Day 3

Horseshoe Falls.  Darren and I have pictures of us here two other times in our lives.  Kind of fun to see our family grow as we keep coming here.  We hiked down to the bottom of the waterfall.  The mist was so strong we couldn't get very close.

The hike down is fun and extremely beautiful.

Whistler BC, Canada Day 2

The bikers headed out to spend the day on the mountain.  I took my crew and we did the super cool Whistler Train Wreck hike.  We took the old trail there which was awesome.  but we weren't really sure we were on the path the whole time.  We were glad to find the new improved trail for the way home.

You are not supposed to walk on the train track but at one point we didn't feel like we had any other choice.  I got a feeling we should get off the tracks and less then a minutes later a train came flying by.

We were almost there but had to stop by the river to look out.  It was all breath taking.

We got to the old train and it is an official graphitti ok area.  REally beautiful.  There were trees growning on top of some of the train cars.

Then we drove into Whistler to let the hikers have a run or two on the bikes.

After Ellas run, the girls rode the lift up to the top.  Much colder at the top!
