True Grit 2024

Ella's second year doing True Grit.  So fun to have all her girls there.  Josie, Emma, Lauren, Brooklyn, and Ruby.  She rode the long hard race great!  She realized half way through she could push harder and left Darren behind.  She took 3rd overall.  Beating out all her friends and her dad! 

 

Arrowhead Ski Team - Maverick Team

This is my 7th season skiing at Sundance with the Maverick Athletes.  Arrowhead Ski Team is my happy place.  I had just under 100 athletes this season and 20 coaches.  It's such a fun job to help these kids love skiing.  I work with great coaches.  I have several favorites!  The parents were pretty great to work with too.  

 

Abby Arrowhead Ski Team Comp Hybrid Team

This year I finally had the capacity to let Abby ski with the Comp Hybrid team on the Arrowhead Ski Team.  She skied 3-4 days a week.  Lucy Blackwelder didn't do ski team this year but we still tried to get them together.  She raced at Snowbird, Snowbasin, UOP and her finals were at Tamarack.  She may be a little shorty and small right now but she was amazing.  My favorite was when I got to go to back mountain for her early morning training and see the sun come up.  The super G, speed training was so fun.  She dropped down so fast and didn't put on her brakes.  It made me so proud! Some favorite friends from this season are Gretal, Lily, Loxely, Emmeline...and Coach Tessa

 

Ella SilverFork Skimo Team

Ella and Darren had a really cool experience to be part of the SilverFork Skimo Team.  I was usually working at Sundance so I couldn't take her.  After the resorts closed the team would skin up the paths, getting an incredible workout and keeping their bodies warm.  Then quickly rip off their skins from their skis and race down the hill.

 It is hard to slip away mid-ski season but it was so nice to do it.  Ella and Abby brought a few friends down to hang out.  The weather was perfect.  We did a little swimming, the lagoon was way too cold.    Playing on the rocks at Dixie Rock. 

Ella, Lauren, and Ruby did some pre-riding for their True Grit Race.   I showed up with chocolate milk and pizza at the end and that was a good thing! 

We took the girls and their friends to Ghost Rider the last day.  So fun to see the girls do hard things.
