November 2023

When I was in Elementary school we did the DARE program but we focused on saying no to drugs. They still talk about that but also about how to be a better person.  "Abigail" (not Abby at school) got to give a speech at the graduation ceremony.  I am grateful for all those people who get to influence my kids for the better.  

Tyler got to go to the Jazz game with Darren and his work.  Tyler loved all the good food!

Ella got to take care of baby for a long weekend.  It is just a doll but cries and Ella has to take care of it like a real baby.  

Abigail at Evelyn's bday party with Carmen.  Karaoke was a hit.  

Thanksgiving dinner with Nolan and his boys and Pat and Seth. Darren always does a great job with the food.  Got in a hike and some rappelling in Corner Canyon. 

Fun to see Tyler in his element with his SBO and class officers.  We didn't even see him in December because of his big Charity Month activity.  By the end of December, they raised almost 56,000$ for a specific Charity.  

We love dog sitting for Smokie and Honey. We also loved the first snow of the season.  Sledding was great for Abby and friends.  

 

Winter Formal CCHS 2024

 Ella got to spend some fun time with friends at the Winter formal.  She asked our family friend and biking friend Jacob Hamblin.  Tyler and his sister Emma dated for a little while and we enjoy being with Lance and Marianne their parents.  Great family.  

Tyler got asked by a cute friend.  I feel like I don't know his friends as well.  They got to go paintballing.  Because Tyler is an SB officer he gets to set up and take down dances.  Lots of my favorite Young Women girls in his group.  

Skimo Training and racing -Ella

 Ella started a new sport this season.  Skimo means you skin up the mountain and then race down on little thin skis.  Great workout, great cross-training for mnt bike season.  Darren loved doing it with her.  I would have loved to learn how but Arrowhead ski season was in full swing.  

Senior night for CCHS Mnt bike team

What a great end to the CCHS Mnt bike season.  Darren took the kids to the end of season banquet.  Tyler was honored for being part of the season for 6 years.  Good friends - JJ, Sam F, Tate, Brooklyn, Mia, Kennedy.  A super amazing community.  

R2R and R2R2R with the Larrabees

Tyler and Ella did R2R when they were younger.  Now it was Abby's turn.  It is important to make it fun and have friends to hike with.  The Larrabees are great adventure buddies.  Darren, Corey, and Keaton did R2R2R.  They didn't all finish together but they all made it.  It made for a fun adventure to look for them on the trail as we hiked.  The views were beautiful.  We had great water sources and plenty of food.  

Abby had some chaffing going on which made it painful for her the last 6-8 hours.  She wants to do it again so she can have a better experience.  We started in the dark and ended in the dark.  We were hoping for 12 hours but it ended up being 14 hours.  We finished at the North Rim, Darren finished at the South Rim and Ella was in St George doing a bike race.  We were all spread out.  Abby trained a lot for this adventure.  Every time she did some good exercise she put a bead in a jar.  I had to laugh when the day after R2R she chose to walk on the treadmill at the hotel.
