May 2023

Ella spent a weekend in St. George with her Maybird riding team.  Great group of girls.

I made it out on some lovely spring hikes and bike rides with friends.  Lots of flooding happening from so much snow this winter.

Abby- Abigail at school- was awarded the Great Utah Award with several of her classmates.  She learned all about the counties and the special things in Utah.  She sang songs and had a speaking part also.  Abby also had a tumbling performance that she had worked hard on.

School is ending.  Ella ... studying for a big final.  Tyler got elected as SBO officer for his high school.  Darren and I spent a minute with the Savage company at their annual leadership conference.

Then there was the end of school.  I don't seem to get many pictures with Tyler and Ella since they are off with friends so much.  Abby had a burn party at the end of the year so they could burn their homework.  It's a great time to have backyard games and BBQ's with friends.  Abby even made it out boating one day.

St. George House May 2023

I have enjoyed the time at our St. George House.  We do lots of biking.  We dropped Tyler and Darren off in Leeds and they biked to the house.  With flat tire issues and a crazy rain storm it was an eventful ride.

Eric took Grace, Ella and a friend to a concert in Vegas.

We took the Allens up to Aspiration Peak to see the rocks.  Then on our way home we stopped in Cedar City to ride the course for the State Championship.  Abby and I practiced some cool skills at the terrain park and then showed them to Tyler and Ella.

Mesa Verde Bike Race

Darren has talked about the Mesa Verde 12 hour bike race for many years.  He has only ever gone down without us.  This year we finally made it!  We headed down a day early with the Larrabees to see every thing we could.  We hiked and saw so many cliff dwellings.

We also did a preride of the course.  Abby and I found beautiful trails that were just right for us.  The next day the race was one.  The goal is to see how many laps your team can get done in 12 hours.  Ellas team came in 2nd place.  A massive storm moved in at the end of the night and shortened the race and increased the mud.

On our drive home Darren took us on a detour.  We found a beautiful overlook.
