January 2021

January we did an awful lot of skiing on terrible snow.  But here are some other things we did... Climbing with the Allens followed by card games.  Nolans boys got to come spend the weekend.  It was an all around party.   We love the game Skull King.  I attempted to grow my own chia seeds.  They were delicious on my salad.  My friend Brittany made me bread.  Lovely sour dough bread.  It was simply heaven.  I have been cooking pretty sold from the recipe book, Clean Simple Eats.  I sure love them all.

I love people- usually.  Ellas friends come over and we eat good food.  Ellas seems to enjoy cooking lately.  But she only bakes treats! Ice cream is a pretty book staple at our house.  With Darren working at home we seem to go through it a lot fast.

Ella got new bedding for Christmas, including a weighted blanket.  I think it helps her sleep better.  Abby does cute crafts and makes books all the time.  I loved her globe so she could shake it and watch the colors swirl.

Tyler and Ella have been going up to the ski resorts with Darren and with friends.  Its been a fun year with the Ikon pass.  Lots of fun skiing.  Grandma Balls sent us a funny pictures.  They might be going stir crazy  staying at their house to stay healthy.

I enjoyed a walk with long time friends.  Shannon and Julie have been part of my life for a long long time.  Both amazing women who helped make me who I am today.  I still enjoy home church.  We get to go in person every other week and watch a zoom call the other week.

Abbys first YSL U8 Race

My little ripper had her first YSL race.  She was the only girl in her U8 category so she took first place.  She was so nervous but once she got there and was with her coach she calmed down.  Her name placed her going first.  She seems to love skiing and does it so effortlessly.

In between her two laps we got to go do some free skiing.  So much fun snow.  It has been skiing on rocks for the whole month.

This was my favorite.  She drew her race so she could put it in her pocket and look and see what she needed to do.  Got at 3.  Go fast everywhere. Zoom Zoom.  Tuck.  Stop.  I love her!

Ellas First tumbling meet in 2021

We did not think Ella would have any competitions this spring.  We are so grateful for her coaches who made so much effort to make this happen.  Ella did great- She is second in the picture below.   She is so strong.  It was fun to watch Abby be her best cheerleader.  She wore Ellas only Wasatch shirt and Ella did her hair.  Ella stepped up her game to train 3 days a week this year.  She has improved a lot.
