Three fun activities in one weekend. We stayed at a fun clean KOA in Ouray. We had a little cabin and didn't sleep in tents. The shower, hot tub, warm roof over our heads, and mattresses were great. Fun to see the mining ruins everywhere.
One day we hiked to Mount Sneffels. It is a fourteener. This sign made me laugh. It says 1.2 miles to the summit. But it was super vertical. about 2000 feet in that mile. It was great. Lots of fun climbing moves, scrambling, and route finding. Fantastic adventure. Coming down was just as exciting with the boulder hopping and sliding down the scree fields without killing the person below us.
Soaking in the lake was amazing. It was so cold and so refreshing on my legs.
One day we did a wet canyon. Some good elevation up ot the top of Middle Oak Creek. We changed into our wet suits and started down. We hit waterfall after waterfall. We only got cold for about two rappels and did a happy dance when we finally saw the sun. Some waterfalls we were submerged under. I absolutely loved it. I was all smiles the whole time.
