This might be the last trip to Mesa Verde for a few years. Tyler and Ella both raced there but seasons change and they are moving on. We saw some interesting things on the way down. A kid's bus was on fire with them standing on the side of the road as their luggage burned down. Their trip to Moab was ruined.
It was a great group of girls this year. Such great friends and so many years of memories with them. Most of them did the race solo. That means 12 hours of racing... about 100 miles of biking. I was so glad to have a big support crew there. Many dads also raced but more so rode with their daughters for support. Ella ended up getting fifth place with 3 other friends also getting on the podium.
Abby brought Bailey to have fun with. They did the kid's race and hung out together. I tried to keep Ella fed, shoving rolls, carbs, and energy into her mouth.
On Mother's Day, we (the Larrabees also) packed up and headed into Mesa Verde National Park to get a tour of the Cliff Palace. I have wanted to get down there for years.
