August 2021- A Wonderful Weekend

We had an amazing summer but this weekend was the very best.  My friend, Ang, brought her band to my back yard.  They played fantastic music and we danced and ate.  So many good friends came.  Friends from childhood, college, ski team, neighbors, climbing.....   Darren cooked for everyone. We had lots of good for to eat!

The next day we headed to Soldier Hollow for Tyler and Ellas first school race.  Darren is a great coach and has helped them so much.  They don't even realize how lucky they are.  Abby is our trusty little side kick.  Running around with us.  It was a muddy raining day but they kids did great.  A crashed pretty hard after a fun weekend and enjoyed some sleeping in the car (just like my mother always did!)

On Saturday/Sunday we had Stake Conference. I have been trying to figure out how to have a better felling in our home especially on Sundays.  I like this quote that was shared.  We also continue to watch the series "The Chosen" about Christ.  Ella has learned to braid hair and I love it. 

 

August 2021 - Let School (Routines) Begin!

After a fun summer -school is going to start.  Routines are great.   Abby chose to wear a mask every day so she wouldn't get COVID.  The Elementary school age kids are more prone to Covid now. 

Parents were just as excited to send kids off as the kids were ready to be sent off.  

Soren and his family went to Puerto Rico before school started.  Soren got Covid and had to stay there for two weeks to quarantine.  Abby was so glad to have him back.  

 

August 2021 - The Last of Summer

 

As summer winds down we got to enjoy so many peaches from our peach trees.  We seem to always have fresh peach pie in the fridge.  Lots of tomatoes and peppers make for delicious meals.  

We had a great time in Florida.  While we were gone Chad and Jeana and family left for Puerto Rico.  Little did they know they would be stuck there with COVID, quarantined in their AirBnB.  We got to enjoy Smokie for a day or two.  

Abby got to go to Cowabunga Bay with a friend.  We went to Savage Lagoon Day.  We also went to the cabin one day with Ely and Rachel.  Swimming in the river, rope swing and Ranger rides.  The next day we took them to Mona to paddle around and enjoy the rope swings.  

Florida Beach House

 We had a wonderful time at the Beach House. It was a total dream.  We had lots of space for everyone.  A private pool.  A short walk to a lovely beach. A huge kitchen gathering area.  Wow.  

Between Whitney and Nolan we had all the possible toys you could image at the beach.  Darren rented surf boards one day so people could practice.  Each night we would head down to the beach and play soccer or build sand castles.  We enjoyed a nice church meeting on Sunday.  We blessed Ranell and Jordans new baby Hadley.  I enjoyed walking the beach each day and listening to a book or a podcast.
