Boulder Colorado with Nellie

Aunt Nellie and Jordan wanted to go check out a music college in Colorado so we drove out to see them.  The reasoning was that an 8 hour drive is closer then a flight to Minnesota.  We got to see Aunt Nellie pregnant which is fun!  We went to Estes Park which I saw when I was a teenager.

We walked around Bear Lake later in the afternoon. It was quiet and peaceful.  We enjoyed climbing off the trail onto some rocks.
I loved this drawing I saw on a wall in a visitor center.  We drove the "Old Fall River Road" which was spectacular and lots of switch backs. The view was lovely.  We did a short hike to a high point.

Another day we went to the Flat Irons.  I had hiked it years ago when we were first married and drove to Boulder to visit Ang.  Grandpa treated us all to ice cream.

We stayed in an old home which is now an Air B and B.  We loved the piano, the kitchen and the amazing rain storm we got to be in.  I especially loved driving at 2:00 AM.  The driving goes a lot quicker when kids are sleeping.

Girls Camp- The Greatest Young Women on Earth

Girls Camp was amazing this year.  We had tried to go to Moab but it was just toooooo Hot so we were lucky to change it to my parents cabin.  I don't do all the little details....Lori Paulsen did those! But I got to be in charge of the adventure stuff.  We had to train for weeks prior but we rappelled off suicide rock, we zipplined, we hiked and went into a cave, and we went off the swing at the cabin.  My girls got to come the first few days.  loved it!

Kings peak

Tylers Deacons group is amazing.  Great leaders and good boys.  For scout camp this year they hiked Kings Peak.  Tyler had done it the year before with our family and the Harston cousins so it wasn't too bad.  I asked Tyler to write down his thoughts about the trip... check those out below.  They went up a slightly different way then us.  They hiked up the boulder field below Gunshot Pass.  It was shorter but still very steep!

I went to kings peak it was fun . It was sort of hard but it payed of in the end I went with my scout troop . Backpacking is hard but is worth it I had done it once before so i knew what to expect . overall it was a great trip .
